Little Miss Lucky

This is our little nugget...Lucky Lunde! She is a double return, rescue dog from a nearby shelter and is now our sweet little puppy! The shelter named her Star - but said that she didn't know her name yet so we could rename her. Matt and I wanted to set her up for success - so we named her Lucky! She is Lucky to have us...and we are Lucky to have her.

When we took her to the vet - we were pleasantly surprised that she was only slightly underweight, but other than that pretty healthy! She was SOOO nervous at her first vet appointment!

This is probably my favorite picture of her. She is about 23 pounds and a mutt. What I love about her is, while she is probably about 3 years old now - she still looks and walks like a puppy!

Seperation Anxiety: The minute we brought Lucky home she was perfect. She was housetrained, listened and was unbelievably calm. In fact, about 3 hours after she was home we had a dinner party and she just laid calmly at everyones feet the entire time. No begging, no barking, just snuggling. Matt and I were amazed! We found out that she was/is perfect - until you leave her alone. She has crazy separation anxiety and it just breaks our heart! The picture below shows her escaping through her wire crate and destroying our office trying get out through the window to find us! Pooped everywhere! Now we keep her in a plastic crate and still hope to keep training her to beable to stay in the house while we are gone, and not in her crate!

She is a snuggler! Lucky cannot stand to be left alone, so if you move to another room in the house she will follow. She will snuggle with a perfect stranger! Matt and I used to think she just loved us SOO much - but really she loves any human with a pulse that will be near her!

Watching TV
"reading"
If more than one person is in the room - the hierarchy of who she wants to be with ALWAYS starts with Brian when he is here!
Super Sweet with Kiddos! Lucky is unbelievable with kids. She will let them pet her and she will just snuggle up next to them. If they take her toys she will let them and then gently take the toy back when they aren't looking. It is so sweet!

Loves any attention - no matter how big or small the person is!
She will play with anyone's toys!
Let's the kids pet her for hours! And loves it!
While she loves humans, big or small, she is terrified of other dogs. This picture shows the tremendous progress we are making getting her to be around other dogs. For the first 6 months, anytime whe was near another dog she would growl and hide under my feet. In fact, when we took her to the boarding place once she was so scared of the other dogs that she would leap over the wall to get away from them!

Loves to be in the middle of Everything! Matt and I will be doing a project and she, with no regard for what is going on, will just come up and lay down in the middle of anything! Hanging pictures - she is at Matt's feet. Building a piece of furniture - she is laying on top of the tools...crack me up!

 Love her little Yoda ears!

Great in the car! Lucky loves being in the car. She is so easy to take on the road home to Jackson!!!

She loves Starbucks! Just like her mom!

Has the sweetest little eyes!

She is not great at posing for pictures! This is the typical look I get when I try to take her picture - COME ON MOM!
Loves to sleep!

With the separation anxiety she is a handful - but such a great addition to our little family!
