White Rock Relay

This year marks the third annual white rock marathon participation from the Lunde family - specifically Matt! The first year he and Ryan Wannemacher ran the half, last year he and Chris Domach ran the half and this year Matt, Chris, Nathan, Amy and my mom ran the marathon relay. As coach and head of the spirit committee...I went all out. So proud of team "Lundofonow."

The support team over for a carb-loading Spaghetti Dinner on Friday!
Kelly found the cutest local coffee shop which we followed by a trip to the Dallas Urban Market
Team T-shirts
Saturday morning golf team!!!
Carissa, Joe and Kelly - our cheerleaders!!!!

Team T-shirts
This was located right before the "Dolly Parton Hills"
At the 3rd drop off where Matt was extending his 6 mile run to run with Amy on her 4.5 mile run
Matt and Chris wanted some extra energy, so they kept Amy company!!!
Switching the "baton"
Poor Chris and Amy (relay 4 and 5) were on the bus for 3 hours. I don't think they will do that next time!

After picking up Nathan, and seeing my mom off for the 2nd leg, we took a quick detour to Starbucks!!!!

Thanksgiving - A bit overdue

I have been a bit behind on blogging lately as we have moved into our new home and "nesting." A post to come on that later

Thanksgiving this year was a blast. Matt, Lemmon and I drove home to Jackson and my dad and our family friend Phil flew into town as well. Here is a group shot from dinner at the King Edward hotel!

Fried Turkey - has become the Trifone tradition over the years. Mark typically makes two - just for fun. This year they were cajun spiced and delicious!!!

The annual Trifone family Thanksgiving football game. This year was particularly painful as everyone except of course my mom and Matt realized how out of shape we are. lol.
Nathan and Mark trying to teach Lemmon to fetch. She STILL doesn't understand that you have to drop the ball when you bring it back. At least it was distracting her from eating the firewood in the backyard for a bit.
Grandpa LOVES little Lemmon (who thinks she is a 50 pound lap dog!!)
"No shave November" was a success for Nathan and Mark. My dad has had a mustache since he was 18 and for Thanksgiving this year Nathan threw down the competition gauntlet to see who could grow the best "John Trifone Stash." Due to his corporate job - Matt was only able to grow a 2 day old stash, but he tried :-) We surprised my dad at the airport with the mustaches and he LOVED it!
My dad's birthday is November 29 (which is fun bc mine is 7/29 and Matt's is 4/29) so we got to do an early bday celebration with him!!!

Lemmon did SOOO well in the car. As her crate doesn't even come close to fitting in the car she was in her seatbelt the entire time and slept like a baby. She had plenty of space back there, but for some reason decided to sleep per the below!

Lemmon did her usual barking/tail under wag for aunt Heather for the first 5 minutes but then warmed up and they were besties!

Magic Shoe Selling Success!

Genesis Women's Shelter Northpark event was a huge success. Matt and I had a great time volunteering and hope that they are able to continue to sell loads of books. I'll keep you posted if I hear an official number on how many books were sold on Saturday. Through my women's network group we will still be thinking of ways to get this book in the hands of kiddos all over the nation - so if you have any ideas, or want to get some as gifts - this is officially my plug :-)

Everyone loved Matt's swirly stack!

The executive director of Genesis - I think she is such an incredible woman!

Noah's Magic Shoes

I would like to take this opportunity to make a plug for my favorite non-profit organization: Genesis Women's Shelter. If you haven't heard of them you should really look them up - genesisshelter.org. I set up a few clothing drives at SMU when I was there, and now as a working professional I have teamed up with them again through a women's networking group WEBB. They are launching THE CUTEST children's book to celebrate their 25th anniversary serving the Dallas community. The book launch is this Saturday from 12-4 at Northpark mall and Matt and I will be there volunteering. Check it out!

The book has the cutest story. A little boy named Noah came to the shelter with his mom last year. He was the youngest of four and always got the hand-me-down shoes. Each child at the shelter gets a new pair of shoes, school uniform, etc. When Noah put on his shoes he told the Executive Director, "Miss, did you know these shoes are magic". He thought he could run faster, stop easier and jump higher.

100% of the proceeds goes to benefit Genesis - books are available online.

Happy Halloween!!!

This year for Halloween Matt and I went with a pop culture theme....and I would say half of the people that saw us got it! We dressed up as Katy Perry and Elmo from the Sesame Street outcry that happened a few weeks ago. I have provided a picture from the real Katy Perry/Elmo, and if you haven't seen it, I suggest googling it - it will help you appreciate our costumes :-).

Katy Perry and her clevage that got the episode nixed from the show!
"Katy Perry" and "Elmo"
Chasing Elmo like an idiot. haha (check out the youtube!)
GOT HIM!

Matt made his costume all by himself! So cute!!!

Last night we went over to Kelly, Joe and Carissa's for a little Halloween party followed by a trip to "Across the Street Bar." Loved all of the costumes!!!

The Wizard of Oz...I think the Lion stole the show!!!
Dorothy, Katy, Snooki and Lil' Wayne
What a bada$$!! Such a cute lil' Wayne!!
ROCKIN OUT
The other lil'Wayne.
Another successful Halloween!!!!

Fred and Karen come to visit

This past weekend Fred and Karen came to visit and we had a blast. Highlights included:

Dinner at Gloria's across the street. We figured since they have been keeping us up at night we might as well see what all the fuss is about. It was delicious! Glad it is close...kind of!
So strong. My 50 pound dog needs to be held sometimes to slow down and relax. I think she was just so excited about the Packer game.
Focused on the green and gold! So fun that Matt and his dad got to be together to watch the game.
They are silly! Wonder where Matt gets it.

Wine tasting at Cru Wine bar.

Grandparents are the BEST!

Lemmon gets so spoiled being the first "grandchild" on both sides of our family. She gets especially spoiled by Grandma and Grandpa Lunde...who have come to visit her twice this year! She has been loving the attention, presents and love. We even let her break another rule last night and snuggle with Grandma and Grandpa on the couch. She was in Heaven!!!! She loved showing off her Packers jersey for today's game.

We love having Fred and Karen in town.

Giving In

I am hoping that dealing with Lemmon is not an exact match of my futuring parenting skills because I am a total softy!!! She just looks at me with those big, brown eyes and I melt. This week is just one more example of a "rule" Matt and I had that has gone out the window. We both said there are a few things we absolutely would not do as doggie parents:

1. No clothes - Lemmon has a pink t-shirt, a Green Bay Packers jersey and in the near future will most likely be getting a sweater/coat.
2. No human food - I am trying SOOO hard here. Don't tell Matt but I snuck her a piece of cheese the other day. AHH.
3. No getting on our bed.

As you can see from the picture below, rule number 3 is the latest to go. Lemmon figured out she can LEAP (not jump up or climb on) onto our bed - and that on our bed - is a soft place to lay with very comfy sheets. The first time she got up there I was so startled - and I think so was she. Then before I could whisk her off I thought, this is adorable I have to get a picture. And now, I just think it is so sweet bc in the mornings she just sits there watching me get ready for work.
