Dog Park and Dinner

We took Lemmon to her first dog park with her new friend Sammy. She loved it because she got to run around like crazy with other dogs...and we loved it because she came home exhausted ready for bed! We may or may not have gone to Rock-in-Taco afterwards :-)

Lemmon was definitely nervous at first, but she warmed right up!

Creative Juices

I have always loved craft projects...and lately have had time to do quite a bit of crafting. Here are some of my more recent projects.

This idea I got from Michaels - it is literally just scrapbook paper glued on canvas - a cheap, creative way to do some home decorating. In the future I would probably do a 12X12 canvas instead of the 8X10 - but since I already had the 8X10 (and the acylic paint to go around the edges) this project cost a grand total of $2.11.
I have been dying to make a cute food/water bowl for Lemmon. Her colors are pink and green (collars, leashes, dog bed, etc) so I knew I wanted to incorporate those two colors, and some yellow. Steph and I went about 2 months ago to Purple Glaze to paint some dog bowls, but they didn't have the right size. i found this piece at TJMAX for $12 with removable bowls, bought $0.59 paint from Michaels and a $6 dollar glaze spray. All in all cheaper than painting it at the store. I absolutely LOVE how it turned out!!!
Birthday cards! Sam is turning one and Steph and I have been planning his bday card invite for months!!! One day we will have to go into business together bc when we get together the ideas never stop!!! Doesn't help that our subject (sweet little Sam) happens to be adorable - he makes the card PERFECT!
Pupcakes! Seriously, how cute. Keep your eyes out for Lemmon'sCake.com.

The Pearl Cup

In researching things in Dallas, Kelly found what was claimed to be "the best latte in Dallas" - so we had to give it a try. I will admit - it was pretty good! The five of us met this morning for a latte and pastry, met the realtor to do a little house hunting, spent the afternoon at the pool, ate buffalo chicken pizza for dinner and ended the night with a card game. Your guess as to which one it was.

Also, good news, we were able to get Lemmon an XL "Packers" jersey - looks less like spandex and more like a jersey. What a cutie!!!

GO PACK!

Football season is upon us - that means Matt will be 24/7 Packers. Lemmon wanted to join in on the fun so she insisted I buy her a (faux) Packers jersey. Unfortunately as you will be able to see from the pictures...it was a bit tight! And that was the large...yikes she keeps growing!!!

Brian came over for the Packers v Colts pre-season game.

New Words

On Good Morning America today they were discussing new words added to the latest edition of the Oxford Dictionary: Bromance, Defriend (i.e. FB), Tweetup (meeting organized via twitter), and vuvuzula (plastic trumpet popular in South America). I think Bromance is my favorite.

21 Again

This weekend Kelly, Joe and Carissa planned a girl/guy weekend and we are thoroughly exhausted. It is definitely harder to keep up (at least for me!!!). After househunting, Matt and I met Kelly, Joe, Carissa, Jersey Mike, Brian and Will at the Village Pool where we had some hiarlious people watching. That was followed by girls and guys going their separate ways, and we had a great girls night. Dinner was at Campanias, followed by a run to Dimples Cupcakes, a drink at Lemmon Bar and then pjs, vino and cupcakes. This morning everyone met back at our apt for a breakfast of champians!Dinner at Campanias - Carissa's first time - she loved it!
In between all of the froyo places in West Village they opened the most amazing cupcakery.
Eggs, Hashbrowns, Pancakes, Biscuits, Bacon, Cinnamon Rolls, OJ, Coffee, Iced Via, etc!

And they are spent!

2010: The year of "Tacorias & FroYo

Tonight we had dinner with Jamie and Brian at what might become my new obsession....one of the three taco restaurants that has popped up within a 3 mile radius of our apartment. $2/taco=delicious!!! Between that and the three fro yo places: yumalicious, orange cup and pinkberry - we are surrounded. I love it!!!

Date Night

Tonight we had dinner with friends followed by an outdoor viewing of the new(ish) movie "Date Night" with Tina Fey and Steve Carell (two of my favs). It was, for Dallas, a pretty cool evening - and watching movies outside is always a blast. For all of you travelers who have seen the blow up screen in the Sky Mall magazines and wonder if it works...I'm happy to report it does!

Dinner at our favorite...

Last night we enjoyed dinner at our favorite restaurant in Dallas...Chuys. For those of you who live here or have come to visit - I'm sure you all understand what I'm talking about. Best queso ever! This was one of the first restaurants we took Joe and Kelly to when they came to visit in March, and naturally when their friends were in town we went back.

Dinner at Chuys was followed by renting a steam cleaner at Albertsons and steam cleaning our carpets. We are so cool :-)

The Windy City...

...was HOT! So much for escaping the Dallas heat. I spent the last week working (and playing) in Chicago. I got to see family and friends (Chris, Chris, Laura, Denise and Tonya) while I was up there, and long days at work were followed by sightseeing, dinner with friends and Billy Elliot! A great, exhausting week!

Lemmon saw me off...what a sweetie!
So great to see Tonya and enjoy the city!
Navy Pier
Went to Billy Elliot on a whim and LOVED it!
Not all companies get three "siblings."

Saturday Night with a twist!

This Saturday Matt and I really went wild with a night babysitting our favorite little man Sam W. We got to enjoy playtime, dinnertime and bedtime. He was an angel with no tears! Love watching him grow and being a part of his life....and glad to let his parents have a night out.

Wearing Uncle Matt's hat - almost fits!
Matt had some great tactics to trick him into eating his veggies. He is going to make such a great dad one day.
This little guy LOVES walking...we had a blast walking up and down the hallway.
Not sure who had more fun playing with Sam's toys...haha

Little Lemmon...

...is growing up fast. Although she is definitely a handful and wakes up at 5:45 everyday on the dot, Matt and I fall more in love with her all the time. She is currently at 43 pounds and on her second crate. I love mornings with her, mostly because she is her calmest - and just adorable. She knows when I am about to leave for work so when I walk over to her, she will immediately get on her back and put all four paws up so I can't move her.
I take about one picture a morning because it seems like her sleeping positions get cuter and cuter. I know, I'm ridiculous!

Grande Finale: Birthday BBQ

The fun never stops...well technically for my week long birthday celebration it has come to an end with the grande finale of a joint birthday bbq for myself and Ryan W. (Bday 7/27). Matt made his famous birthday fajitas complimented by a potluck of homemade guacamole, rotel, watermelon and cupcakes! Thanks to all of my great friends and family for such a special 27th birthday.
