This past weekend we went camping at Beavers Bend, OK to celebrate Paul's birthday. Jamie picked us up at the house right after work Friday and we got back mid-afternoon today (Sunday). I think in total there were about 10 of us - the perfect size for camping group. Paul found THE BEST camping spot. We were on a pennisula with clear, blue water all around us, looking at a little island. We loved it!!!
We arrived to the campsite around 9:30 Friday night, set up camp and then ate some gourmet hotdogs. The next morning we woke up and had eggs, coffee and some really incredible breakfast skewers. Such a cute idea! Breakfast was followed by Paul bringing around the boat and jet skiis and the group switched off between wake boarding, floating around and hanging out on out the boat. After lunch we drove about 5 miles to a river area where you can rent canoes and canoe over to a cliff diving area. We all went - I went last! We rewarded ourselves with snow cones when we got back to the rental place.
When we got back to the campsite we got back in the water and just relaxed until dinner...which consisted of fajitas, beans and rice. Amazing! We ended the evening with smores and I think I was in bed by 10! We were all exhausted. Sunday we had pancakes, eggs and bacon for breakfast, packed up camp and headed home.
All in all, even though Matt and I were exhausted from 3 weekends away - it was WELL worth it!!!! Paul was a great host and we came back relaxed, tan and a bit sore from wakeboarding!
I caught Matt sleeping soundly in the hammock...so cute!
I got up on my first try! And I am paying for it now....sooo sore!
