The title of this post is in relation to work emails. I recently accepted a position with a new company...same industry...and took full advantage of the unique period of time (2.5 weeks) where you technically work for no one and do not have to respond to any emails! So weird! I spent a large part of my time off visiting my mom and dad (as well as some extended family). They both spontaneously took days off to hang out with me and it was so nice to get some much needed quality time with each of them!
My travels first brought me to Vermont to see my dad. We had a blast enjoying the end of leave changing season. I just barely made it - and the scenary was unbelievable!

After several days in Vermont my dad and I drove to Connecticut to visit his side of the family. Bonus: getting to meet second cousin Alex for the first time! What a sweetie!

On Saturday we went to take a tour of Mark Twain's house. It was really interesting. Today he would have spent about $50 million on the house. They wouldn't let us take any pictures inside of the house :-(

After a weekend in Connecticut I headed down to Jackson to visit Nathan and my mom. I already posted the pumpkin carving pics. In addition to getting in the holiday spirit we spent a significant amount of time sitting outside sipping on hot coffee! That and some organizing, painting and shopping!
One more day of "facation" (fake vacation) and it will be like the first day of school again!
Wish me luck!
