O Christmas Tree...

Last week Matt and I set up our Christmas tree. He tried to throw out the idea of getting a fake (gasp) tree this year, but luckily we were able to settle on another real tree this year! Nothing against putting up a fake tree - I'm just not ready to give up the real tree smell (and Trifone family tradition) - even if you do have to clean up the fallen pine needles every other day.

Due to crazy work schedules Matt had to pick up the tree on his own. He picked out the perfect tree and had it set up with the lights on by the time I got home. It was so fun to drive up and see the tree from the window. While I was sad we couldn't pick out the tree together, our real tradition is hanging our ornaments together. Growing up Matt and I each got an ornament every year for St. Nick's day, so we both have some really cute ornaments from our childhood. We have decided to keep with the ornament-collecting tradition by picking up an ornament from every vacation or awesome place we go, so putting the ornaments on the tree brings up so many fun memories that we reminise on...all while jamming out to Christmas music.

Yes those are wrapped Christmas presents under the tree. They may or may not have been wrapped since the beginning of Fall :-)

Some of my favorite ornaments include...
Matt's "First Christmas" ornament on the left, mine on the right!

A pebble beach golf cart that we picked up at the Pebble Beach country club and Matt turned into an ornament!

It is hard to see how awesome this ornament is. It is from Venice - Santa on a gondola - made out of Murano glass!

Brian got us this ornament for Christmas last year from our beach trip to Pensacola, FL. It lights up!

Jamie got us this ornament last year - a door to symbolize our first home!

Sand and shells from our honeymoon in Jamaica!

fleur de lis ornament to commemorate our 2nd Mardi Gras trip! To the right of that is a slot machine to remember the trips to the Vicksburg casinos with my family on our way home to Jackson!

Yes, I do have a starbucks ornament!

Matt's BBQ apron ornament - this one he got from his mom last year to remind us of his bbqs!
