Our good friend Brian and his family are scrabble-lovers! He and Matt play words with friends daily (as well as with his mom). For Christmas this year we thought it would be fun to incorporate scrabble so seeing something similar on pinterest we created the following.
These coasters were NOT easy (like we thought they would be). We bought two scrabble boards (although truthfully it would have been helpful to have bought three) and started with trying to hot glue them to ceramic coasters. That only worked so-so, and turned into a huge fail when we tried to seal them and the laquer just ate away at the glue and they all fell apart. We ended up gluing them to the scrabble board itself, sealing several times and hoping that they dried flat....thankfully they did. All in all this simple little project probably took 10-15 hours of "rework." It was hilarious, but I think Brian loved it!
